Everton defender Leighton Baines has gone on to reveal that manager Ronald Koeman has brought with him a sense of excitement to Goodison Park
While Everton have been relatively quiet in the transfer market so far, they have arguably already completed one of the biggest coups of the summer by being able to lure Ronald Koeman to Goodison Park.
Koeman is regarded as one of the finest managers in Europe following the fantastic job he had conducted at Southampton and the Dutchman had been linked with the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and Arsenal following the conclusion of the previous Premier League campaign.
As a result, Everton being able to attract the 53-year-old to Merseyside is a major deal for the Toffees and there is certainly a lot of optimism surrounding the club faithful at the moment.
It is not only the fans who seem to be looking forward to the Koeman revolution though, as defender Leighton Baines has gone on to reveal that even the players are excited at the appointment of the former Feyenoord boss.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the England international said, “Everyone is looking forward to working with him and there’s such a buzz of excitement among the fans too because he’s such a big name in world football.”
Koeman will eventually be tasked with the job of bringing Champions League football to Goodison Park but for the time being, the Dutchman will have his attention fully focused on the pre-season campaign and the upcoming opening day Premier League clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
