Everton are planning a £10.5 milllion move for Newcastle United winger Andros Townsend, according to reports
Following a terrible campaign last term, things are certainly looking up for Everton ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
Billionaire owner Farhad Moshiri has appointed a quality manager such as Ronald Koeman in charge of the club and he will surely be looking to back the Dutchman during the summer transfer window.
As a result, Koeman is set to be making a host of high profile signings in the coming weeks and names such as Juan Mata, Georginio Wijnaldum and Wesley Sneijder are just some of the names being linked with a move to Goodison Park.
Now according to reports from the Sun, it has been claimed that Everton are also in discussions over the signing of Newcastle United star Andros Townsend.
Townsend has attracted the interest from a number of Premier League clubs following Newcastle’s relegation into the Championship and it is widely expected that the Magpies will be looking to cash in on the England international if a good offer comes along.
Crystal Palace, Southampton and Watford have all been linked with a move for Townsend recently and now claims are being made that even Everton are keen on the 24-year-old.
A £10.5 million release clause is believed to be present in Townsend’s contract and Everton are now reportedly ready to activate it in the coming days.
