According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Merseyside rivals Everton and Liverpool are battling it out against each other to secure the services of French youngster Soualiho Meite.
It is no secret that Everton and Liverpool share a very bitter rivalry on the pitch and the two Merseyside giants are set to renew their rivalry off it as well.
The English publication, the Daily Mirror, have gone on to state that Everton and Liverpool are currently involved in a head-to-head battle to secure the services of French midfielder Soualiho Meite.
Meite is plying his trade for Zulte Waregem on loan from French Ligue 1 outfit Lille this season and the midfielder is considered as one of the most talented young players to have emerged out of France in recent times.
Meite’s fine performances for Zulte and Lille have earned him admiration from a host of clubs across Europe and the Daily Mirror have gone on to reveal that both Everton and Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of the 22-year-old.
The report also claim that a fee of around £6 million could be enough to lure Meite away from Lille and it will be interesting to see which of the two rivals are able to sign the promising midfielder.
