Everton have secured the services of Ramiro Funes Mori, Leandro Rodriguez and Aaron Lennon on transfer deadline day
Everton may not have spent too much during the transfer window this summer but they have most certainly made a huge impact on deadline day by securing the services of Ramiro Funes Mori, Leandro Rodriguez and Aaron Lennon.
Everton had been courting Mori for quite a while now and the Toffees have finally managed to seal the deal for the Argentine defender for a fee believed to be in the region of around £9.5million.
Upon his arrival, Mori stated that he did not have to think twice before joining Everton and added that he is hopeful of making a big impact at Goodison Park.

Mori told Everton’s official website, “When I heard about Everton’s interest, I didn’t think twice. My agent told me about this opportunity and Everton did everything to bring me over and I wanted to come.
“I feel happy because the people here have shown me a lot of love and I’m very happy and comfortable here already.
“I saw the people at Goodison Park and I saw they were a family and all cheering the players and obviously I liked that atmosphere. Hopefully I can fit straight into the group, we can get along and do big things here.”

Another South American star who has arrived at Everton is young striker Leandro Rodriguez, who has been signed from River Plate Montevideo on a four year deal for a fee believed to be in the region of around £500,000.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez was delighted at being able to attract Rodriguez to Goodison and stated that the striker is an exciting young talent.
Martinez said, “He’s a young talent – one of those elite, talented youngsters who we like to bring in. Mason Holgate is a clear example of a really strong, young English defender and Leandro Rodriguez is a young striker with a real knack of scoring goals.
“But he’s much more than that, too. His contribution is a lot more than that and hopefully we can provide a path where he can develop and enjoy his football. If he can do that, clearly that’s going to bring goals to the first team.”

The third signing which Everton pulled off on deadline day was of winger Aaron Lennon from Tottenham Hotspur for a fee of around £4million. Lennon enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Everton at the end of last season and the Englishman has now made a permanent return to Goodison Park.
Martinez was understandably happy to bring back Lennon to the club once again and stated that the 28-year old will help the Toffees’ achieve their ambitions for the season.
The Spanish manager said, “We are delighted to welcome Aaron back to Everton. We know we are getting a player our fans know inside out. He had a major role in the second half of our season and we’re looking forward to Aaron kicking on and continuing to enjoy his football, as well as being the productive player we know he can be.
“He is well-respected in the dressing room, his experience in the Premier League is immense and he will immediately add to our squad and to the ambition we have as a club.”
