Everton are interested in signing Manchester United outcast Luke Shaw in the upcoming January transfer window, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Shaw joined Manchester United from Southampton in 2014 as a 19-year-old with a big reputation and huge promise ahead of him.
Despite enjoying early success at Old Trafford though, Shaw failed to make himself a first team regular at United and is now not even part of the plans under current manager Jose Mourinho.
Even after being frozen out of the Manchester United first team though, Shaw is still attracting concrete interest from some of the elite teams in English football – probably due to his young age.
The likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal are believed to be chasing Shaw, and now according to surprise reports, relegation battlers Everton are believed to be the favorites to land the now 22-year-old as a long term replacement to Leighton Baines.
Manchester United are understandably not keen on selling Shaw to one of their direct title rivals which means that among the aforementioned teams, Everton will might be the most realistic destination for the young defender.
