According to reports from the Sun, Everton have targeted Jean Seri as an alternative to Swansea City star Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Everton have shown a lot of ambition during the current transfer window by acquiring high profile players such as Wayne Rooney, Davy Klaassen, Michael Keane and Jordan Pickford among others and the arrival of the aforementioned stars, have certainly strengthened the Toffees’ lineup.
Despite the influx of players though, Everton manager Ronald Koeman is still looking to further reinforce his squad and bringing in a replacement for Ross Barkley is of high priority for the Dutchman.
It is no secret that Swansea City star Gylfi Sigurdsson has been a target for Everton for quite a while now but with the Swans demanding a whopping fee of around £50million for the Icelandic star, the Merseysiders have now been forced to look at targets elsewhere.
Now according to reports from the Sun, claims have been made that Everton have eyed up Jean Seri as a potential alternative to Sigurdsson.
Seri is a quality player who enjoyed a fine season for Nice last term, as he managed 7 goals and 9 assists in 34 league appearances and he won the Marc-Vivien Foe award, which goes to the season’s best African player in Ligue 1, in the process.
As a result, the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have all registered an interest in signing Seri but it looks like Everton could pip the giants to the signing of the 25-year-old by activating his release clause which is believed to be around £36million.
