Everton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted of his desire to sign Chelsea outcast Diego Costa, even if it’s on loan.
Diego Costa has fallen out with his club despite leading Chelsea to the Premier League title last season and finishing as the top scorer in his team.
Therefore, Everton are hoping to take benefit of the situation by snapping up the controversial forward on loan.
Koeman said about the potential move, “Is this about Costa? Of course you like to sign players for the future, but if you can get the best one that way, then why not?”
“That’s for six months, the season, two years. It’s difficult because it needs to be a quality player, or a young player who can develop or improve.
“We have the possibility maybe to sign good players, but we don’t play in the Champions League – and that sometimes makes things very difficult.”
Should Everton finalize the signature of the forward; they will see their chances of finishing into the Champions league soar up as they will have a proven goal scorer into their rank.
The Toffees have already strengthened their squad significantly with some fine acquisitions, with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Gyilfi Sigurdsson the most eye-catching ones.
Diego Costa has shown a strong desire to move to his former club Atletico Madrid but the Spanish club have been banned from registering any new player until January.
Considering the circumstances, it will make sense for Costa to join Everton on loan until January to play regular football and maintain his match fitness before finalizing a permanent move to Atletico Madrid.
