Everton are ramping up their pursuit of Cesena striker Gregoire Defrel by placing an improved offer
Everton boss Roberto Martinez is looking to strengthen his squad this summer and bringing in a new striker will surely be on the agenda for the Spaniard.
Recently it had been reported that Martinez was eyeing a move for Cesena star Gregoire Defrel and had even placed an offer on the table for the striker, which was immediately rebuffed.
Nonetheless, Everton are looking to persist in their efforts of signing Defrel and now according to reports emerging out of Italy, it has been claimed that the Toffees have placed a brand new offer for the striker which is believed to be in the region of around £3.6million.
Defrel managed an impressive 9 goals in 31 Serie A appearances last season and while his fine form in front of goal was not able to prevent Cesena from suffering the ignominy of relegation, it did help the striker catch the eye of a host of clubs across Europe.
Everton are said to be the first club to have made a concrete move to sign Defrel but they can expect a lot of competition as the likes of Fiorentina, Palermo and West Bromwich Albion are all said to be interested in signing the striker.
Defrel has already shown that he knows his way to goal during his time in Italy and at just £3.6million, the striker would be an astute signing for the Toffees.
