Everton manager Ronald Koeman is currently plotting a move to secure the services of Swansea City attacker Gylfi Sigurdsson, according to the Bleacher Report.
Following a very inconsistent start to the season, Everton have most certainly made a lot of progress under manager Ronald Koeman this term and following the convincing 3-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion during the weekend, the Toffees strengthened their grip in one of the Europa League positions.
On current form, it does look very likely that Everton will now be able to earn a place in Europe for next season and with the expected additional workload, Koeman will surely have to strengthen his squad with a number of signings over the summer.
As a result, it has been no surprise whatsoever in seeing a number of names being linked with a move to Everton over the past few weeks and according to recent reports from Bleacher Report, revelations can be made that Koeman is readying a move for Swansea City’s Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Sigurdsson has been one of the top performers in the Premier League ever since joining Swansea on loan back in 2012 and although he endured a difficult couple of years at Tottenham Hotspur, the Icelandic international has managed to prove his worth once again upon returning to Swansea in 2014.
Sigurdsson has been particularly impressive during the current campaign, where he has managed to score 8 goals as well as deliver 11 assists in 28 Premier League appearances so far, which is certainly no mean feat while playing for a team struggling in the lower reaches of the table.
Therefore, a number of teams have expressed their interest in signing Sigurdsson and it is believed that the 27-year-old will leave the Liberty Stadium at the end of the season, whether or not Swansea avoid relegation.
Everton have been revealed as the club making early moves to sign Sigurdsson and reports suggests that Koeman is ready to splash around £25 million to lure the talented midfielder to Goodison Park next season.
