According to reports from the Independent, Everton are ready to compromise on their asking price for Ross Barkley.
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Ross Barkley at Everton all summer long and it does look like the attacking midfielder already has his heart set on a move away from Goodison Park.
Tottenham Hotspur have widely been touted to make a swoop for Barkley but Spurs are not willing to match Everton’s £50million valuation of the player as chairman Daniel Levy does not feel that such a huge asking price is realistic for a player in the last year of his contract.
The deadlock has proven to be a huge deterrent to any prospective deal but with Tottenham refusing to budge, claims are being made that Everton are now ready to reach a compromise.
The Independent claim that Everton are ready to lower their asking price for Barkley and will look to instead focus their attention towards signing Swansea City attacker Gylfi Sigurdsson.
It is unclear to as how much Everton will be lowering their demands by but they are not in a position to negotiate due to the fact that Barkley might well leave for free next summer if a sale is not achieved within the next six weeks.
