Everton are close to securing the services of Manchester United flop Memphis Depay during the January transfer window, according to reports emerging out of England.
After playing a starring role in PSV Eindhoven’s Eredivisie title victory during the 2014/15 season, Memphis Depay earned a move to Manchester United and many felt that the Dutchman would prove to be a very good signing for the Red Devils.
However, Depay endured a terrible debut campaign at United, where he was unable to show his true worth and the current campaign has proven to be an even bigger struggle for the 22-year-old.
Depay has been limited to only 6 appearances by Jose Mourinho so far this season and most of them have come off of the bench. It is clear to see that Depay is currently way down the pecking order at Old Trafford and has there has been speculation that the attacker could leave United in January.
There is no doubting the fact that Depay is a very talented young player and a host of clubs would be open to taking a chance on the attacker.
Recently, Everton have been touted to make a swoop for Depay and in further developments to the story, claims have now been made that the Toffees are set to secure the services of youngster on loan during the January transfer window.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman does rate Depay very highly and it is believed that the 53-year-old is confident of turning the fortunes of the young attacker around.
