According to reports from the Sun, Premier League outfit Everton are on the verge of securing the services of Lyon star Rachid Ghezzal.
Everton have enjoyed a wonderful run of results in January and following the hard fought 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday, the Toffees’ chances of making it into the top four has increased exponentially.
That said, Everton still have a lot of work to do in order to be able to earn a Champions League finish and manager Ronald Koeman will surely look to improve his sides chances by strengthening his squad even further before the end of the January transfer window.
Having signed Morgan Schneiderlin and Ademola Lookman this month, Koeman is said to be planning to bring in another attacking player to deal with the absence of the injured Yannick Bolasie and now according to reports from the Sun, the Toffees are close to securing the services of Lyon attacker Rachid Ghezzal.
Ghezzal is a talented attacker who has impressed since breaking into the Lyon first team back in 2012 and the Algerian international has consistently been linked with a move to the Premier League over the past year or so.
With Lyon having recently bought Memphis Depay from Manchester United, the French giants are believed to be more open to listening to offers for Ghezzal and if reports are to be believed Everton have had a bid of around £12 million for the 24-year-old accepted.
Everton still have to convince Ghezzal to join them though and in order to do so, the Merseyside based outfit have offered a staggering contract worth £100,000-per-week to the winger.
