Roberto Martinez has expressed his excitement over the return of star winger Gerard Deulofeu
Everton have not been very active in the transfer market so far but the business they have done in bringing in Tom Cleverley and Gerard Deulofeu can be described as extremely astute.
Deulofeu’s signing in particular has been met with a lot of excitement from the fans and many feel that the Toffees have managed a real bargain by bringing in the Barcelona winger for a meagre price of just £5million.
The fans are not the only ones excited with the arrival of Deulofeu though and now manager Roberto Martinez has also gone on to state that he is looking forward to what the young man can produce at Goodison Park after having matured so much as a player.
Speaking to reporters, Martinez said, “We are getting an even more mature player now than he was a couple of seasons ago and a player who considers Everton as home.
“This is why we are incredibly excited to have him back here on a permanent basis and to encourage him to grow, develop and mature his enormous talent.”
Deulofeu spent a successful spell on loan at Everton during the 2013/14 campaign and his electric performances had led to the young Spaniard becoming a fans favourite at Goodison Park.
Therefore the capture of Deulofeu for a bargain is already looking like one of the deals of the season and he is surely a more than capable replacement for the wantaway Kevin Mirallas.
