Everton are plotting a move to bring Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj on loan to Goodison Park
It was clear following Everton’s torrid campaign last term that they needed to strengthen their squad this summer and credit has to be given to manager Roberto Martinez for carrying out some smart piece of business in the transfer market so far.
Martinez has managed to recruit the exciting young duo of Tom Cleverley and Gerard Deulofeu for minimal price and the addition of the two players has certainly gone a long way in adding more freshness into the current squad.
Martinez is certainly an advocate of young players and the Spaniard is now eyeing another swoop for a talented young star in the form of Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj.
The Everton boss has been a keen admirer of Januzaj and with the winger currently struggling for regular first team football at United, the Toffees are confident of landing the services of the Belgian international on a season long loan deal.
It remains to be seen whether United will be open to the idea of parting with Januzaj this summer but the potential move seems to be beneficial for all the three parties involved.
Martinez has praised Belgium’s impressive plan that has yielded in the production of so many talented young players recently and the 41-year old will surely be keen on adding a quality player such as Januzaj into his ranks at Goodison.
He said, “The Belgium FA put in a very strong plan 10 years ago and developed a way of developing players in a 4-2-3-1 system that gave players a really strong technical education. Then they have shown the right mentality. They are capable of moving abroad at a young age and finding the way to be important for the team.
“They are really strong performers and that combination of that programme form the Belgian FA and the mentality of that generation has created an exceptional group of players who are going to be hugely successful at international level.
“As individuals they are great to work with, they are fighters and know how to find a way to be affective for the team but always in a professional way.”
